His cousin Anna believes Josh Duggar’s wife will “never leave him” despite a 12-year prison sentence for the Duggar family’s ex-boyfriend for possession of child pornography.
Amy Duggar, 36, pleaded with Anna to reach out to her for help and told her to stop inflicting further trauma on herself and her seven children by staying with the disgraced reality TV star.
“I don’t expect that to happen,” Amy told The US Sun in an exclusive interview when asked if Anna would break up with Josh.
“I wish I did, of course, but I don’t see that happening.”
Amy, who had a close relationship with her cousin, made it clear that Anna would never file for a divorce because the family church – which her uncle Jim Bob supports – has strict rules against breaking wedding vows, especially for women.
“[They teach] Your vows cannot be broken, you make a decision in life, and whatever happens, this is your husband and you have to respect and love him, walk by his side, and in all honesty be under him.
“It’s sad – so sad – and it breaks my heart to think of it.
“How much can more [Anna] bear, really? She added. “I don’t understand how someone can actually go through all these traumas and be like, ‘I think I’m going to stay for a while.'”
Since Josh’s arrest in April 2021, Anna, 34, has reportedly been distancing herself from Josh’s sisters, believing that those who spoke out against him during his legal troubles had “betrayed” him.
Amy said that over the past 18 months she has tried to reach out to Anna on multiple occasions to check on her and her children’s condition, but her attempts at sympathy have been halted.

I tried. I tried texting her. Well, at first it was ‘I love you,’ Amy said, recalling her unanswered letters to Anna. I am here for you. Please let me know how I can help you through this, I haven’t received any response.
Then my second message was, ‘I’m talking to you out of love. I am trying to reach you. Being a safe place. We are a safe place if you want to take your kids somewhere.”
On her second attempt to reach Anna, Amy said she even offered to put her and her children in for as long as they needed, insisting they had enough room for seven beds.
“We could have helped her, we really could,” she said. “There is no response yet.
“There is so much for [Anna] what you’re going through right now.
“You’re in a really dark tunnel and you might not believe it. It’s going to take her a long time to understand what’s going on.
“What happened in her life is tragic…She is a victim of all of this too…It’s tragic along the way.”
how much can [Anna] Really bear? I don’t understand how someone can actually go through all these traumas and be like, ‘I think I’m going to stay for some more.
Although she hoped she would, Amy said she never expected Anna to reply to her messages.
However, she says, Anna will have a shoulder to lean on whenever she needs it, both now and in the future.
“I don’t expect her [respond] Amy said.
“I understand that maybe she’s scared out of her mind, she’s nervous and there are a lot of things going on right now.
“I would have had a mental breakdown if I were her, so I hope she takes care of herself.
“And most importantly, I hope she takes care of her children.
“They are dear children, beautiful children, they have so much potential and I just hope they can reach it.”
Anna getting close to Josh?
Sources told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup last month that Anna was making the six-hour commute from her home in Arkansas to the Federal Correctional Institution in Segoville, Texas, where Josh has been imprisoned every two weeks since he was put behind bars.
Faced with the reality of the situation and the weight of Josh’s 12-year prison sentence, Anna begins looking for places to relocate that will be close to Seagoville.
This decision has reportedly not been carried out well with Josh as he believes that once his appeal is accepted, his sentence will be overturned.
A source for ‘Behind Bars’ revealed Ashley:[Josh] He thinks he will get over his appeal and feels that his wife’s move is unnecessary. He is inclined to believe that they will overturn his case.”
They also disclosed, “Josh and Anna had an argument over the phone and Josh went two days without speaking to her, which is important because he calls him every day.”
The source also claimed that Anna looks “tired, broken and exhausted” during her visits to her husband and that “his actions seem to have really affected her”.
‘You should never marry her’
In response to rumors that Anna is weighing moving from Arkansas to Texas to be closer to Josh, Amy said, “Lord, I hope not.
“I want her to understand what happened here… Honestly, I wouldn’t even have married him in the first place,” Amy added, referring to Josh’s allegations of molesting five underage girls — including members of his family — as a teenager.
The bomb allegations were revealed in a 2006 police report published by In Touch in 2015.
“Find out what happened to the sisters,” Amy continued. “What happened in the family that no one knew about?
“I was shocked I literally didn’t know – don’t marry someone like that.”
Amy Dillon’s husband, who also sat down to speak with The US Sun, said, “It should have been her first red flag when he cheated on her. She should have pulled the plug after that.”
“When you cheat on your wife with bitches, it’s time to leave.
“It will take years for you to come to terms with what happened with Josh.
“I was also very impressed by the family getting married early and the standards they set early on.
All the things that hurt her in marriage have a process, well, I learned this. I used to live this way. Currently. How do I get out of it?
Then she has to deal with being realistic. I have many children. I don’t have a job, I’m not educated in college or anything else. How do I leave the situation and still be able to provide for my child? “
The couple said they have no idea what Anna is currently doing at work, if anything, as she is trying to raise seven children on her own.
With that, Amy assumed she was probably receiving “a lot” of help from Jim Bob and her aunt Michelle Duggar.
Amy was questioned by COPS
Earlier this week, The US Sun exclusively reported that both Amy and Dillon were secretly questioned by the Department of Homeland Security amid the Josh child pornography investigation.
Amy was just getting out of the bathroom when the doorbell rang in early 2021.
Walking downstairs in pajamas and her hair wrapped in a towel, Amy said she was surprised to find the door opened and found a group of federal agents standing in front of her.
“They were like, ma’am, are you amy the king?” And I told them I am. Then they said, can we ask you some questions? So I said to them, “Sure, can I blow-dry my hair first?” But they said no,” she tells with a laugh.
“I let them in and they just sat there, just asking me questions about the family, whether I knew anything and I was in a daze.
“I wasn’t even sure what they were asking me about, so I was like ‘I don’t know what you’re getting into.
“Of course, they don’t tell you because they are looking for information.
“So I honestly had nothing to give them. I said I wish I could tell you more about what happened but I know nothing.”
Dillon added, “The problem is that we don’t know s**t, because we don’t know what’s going on in their lives because we’re starting to separate ourselves. [from them] Really kind.”
The couple contacted Amy’s uncle, Jim Bob, after the clients left in search of answers, but received a baffling and disapproving response from the head of the household.
When the true nature of the visit was revealed, and after Josh was accused of receiving and possessing child pornography on April 29, 2021, the couple decided to cut all ties with Amy’s extended family forever.
“I think that’s where I tried to take a stand and told myself I’m 100% going in the opposite direction of this,” Amy said.
“I’m fine to express my opinion at this point, I’m not holding back on anything.
Josh was sentenced to 151 months in prison on May 25.
According to The US Sun court reporter, Josh appeared sober when he received the sentence, which also includes $50,100 in unpaid fines.
When he read his decision, the judge called Josh’s crimes “the sickest patient” to a crowded courtroom.
Then he said to Josh, “You’ve done very bad things. But in your life as a whole, you have done good things… The true test of a man’s character is what a man does when no one is watching.”
Josh Duggar filed an appeal against his sentence last month, blaming a former co-worker for downloading the gruesome photos.
The former disgraced reality star launched the appeal in Arkansas court on October 3, claiming that government agents failed to interview or investigate Caleb Williams, a colleague at a now-closed used car dealership.
According to Josh, Caleb, a convicted sex offender, “only regularly used [computer] containing child pornography, he was a tech expert” and allegedly sent him a text offering to “watch a lot.”
In the file, Duggar’s team claimed they wanted to call Caleb to the podium, but the court prevented it.
No decision was reached on the appeal.
