But the full extent of his injuries was not revealed until Saturday, when his agent Andrew Wylie gave an update on his condition in an interview with Spanish newspaper El País.

Hadi Matar, the 24-year-old New Jersey resident who was arrested in the Rushdie stabbing, has pleaded not guilty to the charges of attempted murder and second-degree assault in August.
