Kristen Brown and her sister’s ex-wives aren’t entirely clear about what really constitutes a divorce in a spiritual marriage.
On Sunday’s episode of the TLC series, Cody Brown’s fourth wife, Robyn, opened up about her feelings about Kristen’s divorce from Cody after 26 years of marriage.
“Usually our church does [be the one to] Robin told Kristen, Cody, and his other wives Janelle and Mary that you are divorced. “You have to go for a divorce. You have to get papers, you have to get approval. You have to prove that the marriage has been dissolved.”
But she told Kristen, “It’s a little different, I guess, because you don’t consider yourself a part of that church anymore.”

Last November, Kristen announced on Instagram that her spiritual marriage to Cody had ended. In September 2021, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and still lives there with her daughter Truly, 12 (the exes are also parents to son Paedon, 24, and daughters Aspyn, 27, Mykelti, 26, Gwanticn, 20, and Jesabelle, 19). Cody has a total of 18 children among women).

“Just saying Kristen is divorced is kind of invalidating our beliefs,” Robyn said in a confession. “We are spiritually married to Cody by our church. If we want a divorce we have to go get their approval. They usually need counselling, lots and lots of meetings, and technically, I understand, until Kristen gets physical with another man she is not divorced. But I I do not know “.

For Kristen, who is no longer a member of the Mormon fundamentalist and was not legally married to Cody, her divorce took effect when she decided to end the marriage.
“Since I don’t have any legal contract binding me to Cody, there was no legal action we had to take,” she explained.

During the episode, Kristen also revealed to the family that she has sold her home in Flagstaff, Arizona, and will be moving to Utah in a week.
“This conversation is not going to be easy,” she said. “Not only is my house tied to a contract, I’m leaving. It’s like pulling the rug out from under them.”

Although it was difficult to end her group marriage and start over, Kristen knew the decision was the right one.
She said in a confession, “I was 21 when I got married. I’m 49. I’m going to start over.” “All I know is that I’m moving forward and I’m heading for something better. I know I’m heading toward something better. And that’s enough most of the time.”
She continued, “I know without a doubt that I’ve tried for years to make this work. I have a clear conscience knowing I did my best. If people want to look at me and think otherwise, well – I can’t do anything about it. Being a mother is the most important thing to me.” me, but I couldn’t in good conscience stay married to someone who had favorites and made them so well known and someone who would break my children’s hearts. Instead, I wanted to do it for them.”
