At the time, Thompson was filming the period piece Sense and Sensation, which is based on Jane Austen’s 1811 novel of the same name. She told The New Yorker that it was her “Sense and Sensibility” co-star Greg Wise “who picked up the pieces and put them back together.”

Carter, 56, dated Branagh for five years before they went their separate ways in 1999.
Thompson, Branagh, and Bonham Carter star in the Harry Potter series. Thompson played Professor Sybil Trelawney and Branagh played Gilderoy Lockhart in the second film, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” in 2002.

“You can’t hold onto anything like that,” she told the outlet. “It doesn’t make sense. I didn’t have the energy for it. Helena and I made our peace years and years ago.”
She also joked about why Branagh was so attracted to her and Bonham Carter. “Being a bit grumpy and a little fashion-defying. Maybe that’s why Ken liked both of us. She’s such an amazing woman, Helena.”
