Warzone 2 Almost here, along with a start Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Season 1, adding a new DMZ mode and a slew of new content to dive into.
The new free game Call of duty Battle Royale comes with the new Al Mazrah map, an all-new Battle Pass and overhauled game systems including 2v2 Gulag matches, all-new purchase terminals and a collapsing circle that can split into two or three smaller circles.
Preload for Warzone 2 Launching now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S, PS4, PS5 and PC via Battle.net and Steam. I tested the preload and ran into some snags that I’m currently working on with Activision. Basically, head to your platform’s storefront and search for it Warzone 2. When it pops up, you should be able to simply hit the preload button and start the installation.
However, the obstacles encountered include:
- On Steam, when I hit preload it simply launches Modern Warfare II This may mean that the game is already preloaded. I’m not sure!
- On PlayStation 5, when I search for Warzone 2 Does not appear. Modern Warfare II They appear, as do some of the packaging for the original war zone, but not Warzone 2.
However, you can go to this link which will take you to a file Warzone 2 Website where you can choose your platform of choice and add the game to your library (in theory this should work!) For example, this link takes me directly to the PlayStation version of the game and gives me the option to add to my library.
When I followed the steps from this link I discovered that on PlayStation, Warzone 2 appears as Modern Warfare II There is no separate game, code or page for it. I was able to preload, but I can’t tell if it’s fully preloading Modern Warfare II A game (which I don’t own on PlayStation!) or just war zone. However, the file size is 38.6GB. More on this in a second.
Speaking of file sizes, how much space does Warzone 2 require?
I’m trying to get confirmation on the download size from Activision, but now I’m seeing conflicting reports. For example, many outlets are reporting on this Warzone 2 It will take up 115GB on Xbox and PlayStation, but when I preloaded the game on my Xbox Series X, here is the screen I get when I go to manage the game:
As you can see, here I introduce Warzone 2 Take up 6.2 GB. Total footprint Modern Warfare II’s Campaign, Co-Op, Multiplayer and Warzone 2 are less than 50GB.
Meanwhile, I was able to see the preload size on Battle.net. I own Modern Warfare II Installed on Steam and on Warzone 2 A page that says you need 125 GB of space on your device to install the game. However, on Battle.net, the preload only requires 17.4 GB:
if Warzone 2 It’s only 6.2GB on Xbox and 17.4GB on Battle.net I can’t imagine it’s 38.6GB on PlayStation, which suggests to me that there are some “core” games that include files for both Modern Warfare II And the Warzone 2 This also installs on my PlayStation 5 (as I really don’t have that much space! I’m just doing this for the science!)
This is likely only the initial size of the preload, another big update on the way that will require a lot more hard drive space. I asked for clarification and will update this post when I find out more.
All of this is to say we have limited information at this time but the actual preload isn’t that big as far as I can tell, and ranges from 6.2 GB on Xbox to 17.4 GB on a PC And the 38.6 GB on PlayStationalthough it will probably be smaller there if you already have it Modern Warfare II installed.
Oh, and now my Steam install from Modern Warfare II –presumably with Warzone 2 Preloaded – 55.45 GB. I think it was about 30GB at launch. So it could be a file Warzone 2 The update was about 25 GB, but I’m not entirely sure there were updates between launch and now it can affect the size of the base install.
Many puzzles! See you at Warzone this Wednesday! If all goes according to plan and doesn’t bog us down constantly, that is!
