Veteran actress Tapasom Govil, 78, passed away on Friday evening (November 18) due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai, reports news agency ANI. Soon after the news broke, celebrities from across the industry paid tribute to the late actress on social media. Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, shared a touching post on her Instagram that read, “She was truly a legend. As a child I used to watch Phool Khel Hain Gulshan With Tabassum Ji as the amazing host. I don’t remember her guests. Only her. With her nose pinched and the rose tucked behind her ear. All these hazy memories wrapped around me like layers of cashmere on a winter morning. May she rest in peace.”
Shortly after Twinkle Khanna posted the post, Farah Khan Ali wrote, in the comments section, “Hope she’s a RIP. Mention her clearly. #TabassumRIP.”

On Friday night, Tabassim Govel suffered her first heart attack at around 8:40 p.m., followed by another heart attack at 8:42 p.m., according to news agency ANI. The legendary actress has been suffering from health issues for the past few days.
According to the late actor’s son Hoshang Guovel, his mother wished not to tell anyone about her death until her last rites were performed. The family revealed that their last rites were performed in Mumbai on Saturday, according to news agency ANI.
Kiran Bala Sachdeva, better known by her stage name Tabassum, was an actress, talk show host, and YouTuber. She began her career as a child actress, Bibi Tabassim, in 1947. She is best known for her performance in the TV show Phool khile hain gulshan gulshan. She has also acted in movies like Baiju Bawra, Vir Wuhi Dil Laya Hon And much more.
